Early Childhood Education & Development

EERUi’s Early Childhood Program supports informal caregivers and parents in Kenya’s underserved communities to provide nurturing, safe, and stimulating care for children aged 0–3. Through hands-on workshops, we equip caregivers with knowledge in the Nurturing Care Framework components, including responsive caregiving, adequate nutrition, good health, safety and security and opportunities for early learning.

We identify and mentor caregiver champions who lead peer learning and serve as local role models. These champions, along with our Community Centres of Excellence, act as demonstration hubs for quality home-based care and learning.

To strengthen sustainability, we provide business and financial skills training that helps caregivers run viable childcare services and improve their livelihoods. Our social franchising approach allows trained champions and centers to replicate and scale the model across other communities, ensuring long-term impact.

By combining care, community leadership, and economic empowerment, we are building a grassroots network of caregivers committed to giving every child the best start in life.
