Founded in 2020, Education Empowerment for Rural and Urban Slums Initiative (EERUi) is a grassroots social impact nonprofit organization based in Kenya, committed to transforming education in low-income communities. We work with caregivers, parents, educators, and local leaders to improve early childhood care, strengthen foundational literacy and numeracy, and promote sustainable, community-led learning.
We believe that education rooted in local realities, cultural knowledge, and environmental values can unlock the full potential of every child. Our programs are co-created with communities and designed to be scalable, inclusive, and responsive to the needs of children from birth to early adolescence.
With a deep commitment to education, equity, sustainability, and community, EERUi promotes a holistic approach to child development, beginning with nurturing care in the early years and continuing through foundational learning and environmental stewardship. We support community-driven learning solutions that respond to the realities of children and families living in informal settlements and underserved rural areas.
With a growing network of partners across rural and urban Kenya, EERUi is advancing equitable education and sustainable development, one community at a time.
