To create a world where every child, notwithstanding their socio-economic status has an equal chance to quality education
Quality education is one of, if not the most, important tool for the holistic development of any society. In rural communities and urban slums across Kenya and Africa in general, many poor children are often left behind in pursuit of quality education. This cycle begins from the foundational level all through their subsequent learning levels thus impeding their potential to transform their lives and society. This social and societal construct needs to be addressed quickly using sustainable and innovative approaches that recognize the instrumentality of early years, the need for accelerated learning
and content acquisition at the right level and the role of parental involvement. Founded in 2020, Education Empowerment for Rural and Urban slums (EERU Initiative) is a Non-Governmental Organisation that makes timely interventions that guarantee access to quality education for the vulnerable children in rural and urban slums across Kenya and Africa through technical and infrastructural support, policy advocacy, economic empowerment and community sensitization programs.
EERU Initiative is a grassroots, volunteer driven initiative that improves access to quality education for children in rural and urban slums most of whom have largely been left behind in education.
